KTM Factory Team rider Alfredo Gómez began his career racing trials and proved a force to be reckoned with, winning the World Junior Championship. But then he surprised everyone by giving up on a promising career in trials to take up enduro riding, following in the tracks of Taddy Blazusiak and Jonny Walker.
Using a solid set of skills honed in trials, Alfredo was crowned Spain’s Junior Champion in 2012. Riding for Husaberg, the Spaniard showed great talent not only in enduro, but also in the more physically demanding SuperEnduro and Hard Enduro disciplines.
He’s a frequent finisher on the podium and has won the Ukupacha Extreme and Xtreme XL de Lagares (twice) as well as being one of four finishers who shared equal honours at the Red Bull Hare Scramble in 2015.
After a year partnering Graham Jarvis at Husqvarna, Alfredo joined Jonny Walker at the KTM Factory Team and 2016 saw more podium finishes – notably at the Hare Scramble and Roof of Africa.
Off track, Alfredo Gómez is an easy going and friendly man, who always competes in the right spirit.
